Forced to take the backroads on their way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman finds unexpected connections and his own sense of redemption.

About cry macho
There have been multiple attempts to get this project made in the past prior to Clint Eastwood’s adaptation of Cry Macho (2021), as the project remained to make its way to the big screen for about 30 years. In 1991, production on an adaptation began in Mexico with actor Roy Scheider in the lead role, but the project was eventually scrapped soon after. Another attempt in 2011 happened when Arnold Schwarzenegger was set to play Eastwood’s character in another planned adaptation, which would have marked his return to acting after his term as the Governor of California. But like the Scheider version, the project was canceled before production could get very far.
