actress Kangana Ranaut, who will soon be seen playing the role of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in her biopic Thalaivi, will release a new track ‘Teri Ankhon Mein’ from the film on Monday. The song pays tribute to the iconic politician and former film star. The makers of Thalaivi have recreated four iconic original songs of Jayalalithaa and MGR and brought them together in this one track. The song will also star Arvind Swamy as MGR

Thalaivi is a Tamil biographical movie about the actress, politician J Jayalalitha directed by A L Vijay. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut plays Jayalalitha and  Arvind Swami plays the role of M. G. Ramachandran in the movie. The movie was jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under banners Vibri Motion Pictures & Karma Media and Entertainment. The soundtrack was composed by G V Prakash Kumar. The cinematography is handled by Vishal Vittal.

Storyline of Thalaivi

Thalaivii (transl. Female Leader) is an upcoming Indian multilingual biographical film about the life of J. Jayalalithaa, a politician and actress who served six times as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa.[2] Shot simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages, it is directed by Vijay and written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, Madhan Karky (Tamil), and Rajat Arora (Hindi). Thalaivii is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh of Vibri Motion Pictures and Karma Media And Entertainment respectively.

The film was launched officially on Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary, 24 February 2019. Initially, the film was titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi and Telugu languages, but the makers later planned to release it under the title Thalaivi in all three languages.[3] Principal shooting began on 10 November 2019 and was completed in December 2020.[4] The film was scheduled for a theatrical release on 23 April 2021.[5] As of April 2021, the release date of the film has been postponed indefinitely due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and lockdown in Maharashtra.[6] It was later rescheduled to release on 10 September 2021, with the new title Thalaivii
